1859 - 1965
In 1859, the Dutch private company Firma L.J.N. Eindhoven & CO Gravenhage was founded. PGN was officially designated as a state-owned company on May 13, 1965.
1993 - 1998
Business expansion and PGN's expansion were followed by the establishment of the subsidiary PT Transportasi Gas Indonesia.
2003
PGN's shares were listed on the Jakarta Stock Exchange and Surabaya Stock Exchange with the code PGAS on December 15, 2003.

Business expansion and PGN's expansion were followed by the establishment of the subsidiary PT Transportasi Gas Indonesia.
2018

11 April 2018
In line with the Government's initiative to form the Oil and Gas SOE Holding, on April 11, 2018, PGN became part of PT Pertamina (Persero) with the transfer of the state RI's Series B shares, marking the formation of the Oil and Gas SOE Holding.

Furthermore, on December 28, 2018, PGN officially became the Gas Subholding with the acquisition of 51% of PT Pertamina (Persero)'s shares in PT Pertamina Gas.
