Pertagas Niaga and PT Likuid Nusantara Gas Sign MoU to Ensure LNG Availability in Java and Bali

Jakarta – PT Pertagas Niaga (PTGN), an affiliate of Pertamina's Subholding Gas PT PGN Tbk., continues its efforts to ensure the availability of Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) for consumers in Java, Bali, and surrounding areas. This commitment was demonstrated through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with PT Likuid Nusantara Gas on Thursday, February 15, at PTGN's headquarters. The MoU was signed by PTGN's President Director Aminuddin and PT Likuid Nusantara Gas's President Director Wira Rahardja.

Aminuddin emphasized that this partnership would not only address the LNG needs of consumers in Java and Bali but also has the potential to expand the market further. "Through this collaboration, PTGN aims not only to maintain reliable services for existing LNG consumers in Java and Bali but also to expand the LNG market in these regions, especially with the presence of LNG plants in Java," Aminuddin stated.

He added that the partnership could evolve into various other forms of collaboration, supporting business growth and creating value for both parties.

Looking ahead, Aminuddin noted that in 2024 and beyond, PTGN will aggressively expand the natural gas, LNG, and CNG markets in Java and Bali, thus contributing to Indonesia's energy transition toward the Net Zero Emission (NZE) goal by 2060. "The market is still wide open, and environmental awareness among industry players is improving. LNG offers significant advantages, including up to 85% lower carbon emissions, higher heat output, cleaner energy, the ability to be stored at low pressure, and longer transportation distances. LNG has great potential as an alternative energy source to drive industries during this energy transition," Aminuddin concluded.

PTGN has been involved in the LNG business since 2017, with a total delivery volume of 9,674,200 British Thermal Units (BTU), serving various industries, including fertilizer, hospitality, fabrication, waste processing, mining, hospitals, and providing LNG as Dual Diesel Fuel (DDF) for oil and gas companies. PTGN also manages over 23 LNG portfolios across Java, Bali, Sulawesi, Sumatra, and Kalimantan.
