PGN Responds to Gas Pipe Leak in Kuningan

PGN's Disturbance Handling Team (TPG) quickly addressed a gas leak incident in front of the Ministry of Health Building, HR Rasuna Said Street, Kuningan Timur, Setiabudi, South Jakarta. The incident was reported to have occurred at approximately 4:50 PM WIB on August 7, 2024.

The TPG coordinated with relevant parties to handle the incident and immediately set up a safety line around the suspected leak area. The team also verified the exact leak point and began excavation around the repair site. The situation is being addressed promptly, and the gas flow has been temporarily stopped to ensure the safety of the network and the public area.

"Based on field identification, there was a leak in the 180 MM PE Main Pipeline. The TPG is repairing it by cutting and replacing the 180 MM PE pipe," said PGN’s Corporate Secretary, Fajriyah Usman, on August 7, 2024.

It is suspected that the leak in the 180 MM PE pipe was caused by third-party activities related to the excavation of other utilities.

“We apologize for this incident. We also anticipate the potential risks and ensure that the gas flow around the area remains safe,” Fajriyah added.

PGN also expressed gratitude and appreciation for the prompt response from the local community, who immediately informed PGN officers, allowing the issue to be addressed quickly. The public is encouraged to report any emergency incidents or potential risks to the gas network by contacting Pertamina's Call Center at 135.
