PGN Receives BPH Migas Award 2023, Thanks to Commitment to Support Jargas Development in Accordance with the RPJMN

Bogor – PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk (PGN) as a Subholding Gas of Pertamina, has once again received appreciation from BPH Migas for its positive performance in optimizing the supply of national natural gas. PGN successfully achieved the title of Best Trading Business Entity and Supporting Business Entity for the National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN) for Gas Distribution, awarded during the peak night of the BPH Migas Awards 2023 on Friday (December 29, 2023).

“We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to BPH Migas for the appreciation given. PGN and BPH Migas have been working hand in hand to distribute natural gas in the household and small customer segments. We hope that the collaboration between PGN and BPH Migas will become stronger and more aligned in executing the government's assignment for the development of gas distribution networks,” said Harry Budi Sidharta, Director of Infrastructure and Technology, on December 29, 2023.

Currently, PGN manages 834,165 Household Connections (SR) spread across 73 cities/regencies. This number was built by PGN using state budget funds and PGN's own investments. In 2023, PGN has successfully completed the development of gas distribution with state budget funds for 40,877 SR in 12 cities/regencies. Meanwhile, the development of gas distribution with PGN's own investment continues to progress to support the government's goal of building 2.5 million SR.

Harry also mentioned that PGN aims for more massive and sustainable natural gas service development in the community, thus increasing the contributions from the gas business. This goal is supported by BPH Migas to realize equitable energy in Indonesia through policies regarding natural gas for households, small customers, and gas pipeline networks.

PGN has also supported BPH Migas in managing the downstream natural gas sector. A tangible manifestation of this is the development of household and small customer gas distribution funded by the state budget. It is expected that PGN can create innovations to accelerate the development of gas distribution networks.

The implementation of natural gas tariff determination for households, small customers, and gas pipeline toll fees managed by PGN is based on the provisions of BPH Migas, the authority in setting and evaluating natural gas prices. The prices set have certainly undergone in-depth studies and consider the economic feasibility for the community. PGN, as a business entity, is committed to providing infrastructure, supply, and services to customers.

At the same event, PT Pertamina Gas and PT Transportasi Gas Indonesia (Tragasindo), subsidiaries of PGN, also received awards in the category of Best Natural Gas Pipeline Transportation Business, securing the first and second positions, respectively.

PGN, as the Subholding Gas of Pertamina, is committed to continuously supporting the government in accelerating the development of household gas networks as part of the National Strategic Projects and ensuring the availability of natural gas supply. PGN's strong commitment is upheld alongside all related stakeholders in realizing this national vision.
