IAF 2024 Event, PGN Ready to Initiate Low Carb Cooperation

Nusa Dua – PT PGN Tbk as Pertamina's Gas Subholding fully supports the 2024 Indonesia Africa Forum (IAF) as an event to strengthen economic growth through international cooperation in various sectors. In this forum, PGN is ready to support the Oil and Gas Holding in playing a role in the Go Global expansion in the energy sector.

Pertamina's President Director said that Pertamina sees great potential related to energy development, especially natural gas and geothermal energy. This is in line with future energy transition efforts to realize greener and cleaner energy.

PGN, which operates in the midstream and downstream natural gas sector, has the opportunity to develop infrastructure development and utilize natural gas according to the roadmap towards Net Zero Emission (NZE). In the process, PGN adheres to the vision and mission of PGN and Pertamina NZE Roadmap 2022 - 2060.

PGN's Director of Strategy and Business Development Rosa Permata Sari said that PGN's roadmap in terms of decarbonization towards NZE 2060 is implemented in the use of environmentally friendly technology in the operating environment. On the other hand, PGN is pioneering a new business that focuses on low carbon business. The development of this new business is carried out using the Step Out business strategy. For this reason, PGN is very open to establishing partners in order to ensure the success of the low carbon business initiative.

PGN is currently focusing on developing biomethane as a renewable gas produced from further processing of palm oil waste (POME). The Biomethane project will provide benefits in the form of reducing methane gas emissions, reducing carbon emissions, and meeting customers' natural gas needs. Then, along with the development of the Pertamina Group to develop the CO2 transport business, PGN will play a role in developing infrastructure from the midstream side
