Consistency in Environmental Care, Pertagas Wins 2 Awards at the Indonesia Green Award (IGA) 2024

Jakarta – PT Pertamina Gas (Pertagas), a subsidiary of Pertamina's Gas Subholding, won two awards at the 2024 Indonesia Green Award (IGA), organized by La Tofi School of Social at Hotel Indonesia Kempinski, Jakarta, on Wednesday (January 17).

La Tofi reported that this year’s IGA presented certificates and trophies for 155 environmental conservation programs across Indonesia, covering the operational areas of both state-owned and private enterprises.

The Pertamina Group dominated the 2024 IGA awards through various environmental programs initiated by its Subholdings and subsidiaries. Among these, Pertagas demonstrated consistency in its strong commitment to environmental care through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs in its operational units, namely the Operation Central Sumatera Area (OCSA) and the Operation Kalimantan Area (OKA).

Pertagas OCSA received an award in the category of corporate social responsibility program organization for its “Embung Senja” initiative, an eco-friendly and environmentally conscious tourist destination. This program has significantly boosted the local economy and turned Desa Gajah Mati, Musi Banyuasin Regency, into a tourist destination.

Meanwhile, in the category of natural conservation tourism development programs, Pertagas OKA was recognized for its Kampung Bersama Ecotourism program, which promotes the unique cave ecosystem in Kutai National Park, located in Martadinata Village, as a new tourism attraction in East Kutai.

Pertagas Corporate Secretary Muhammad Baron stated, “This achievement is a testament to Pertagas’ consistent efforts in implementing CSR programs in the environmental sector and enhancing sustainable programs that provide added value to the community, especially in areas around Pertagas’ operations.”

Baron emphasized Pertagas’ commitment to conducting business in accordance with Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles. This commitment supports the drive to develop initiatives, meet green industry sustainability standards, and contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
