PGN's Commitment to Business Expansion, Supplying Natural Gas to PT Easterntex

Pasuruan – (March 25, 2024) Subholding Gas Pertamina, PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk (PGN), is committed to expanding its natural gas business to support the use of clean energy by supplying an average of 6,104 MMBtu/Month of natural gas to PT Easterntex, a producer of polyester/cotton blended yarn and fabric.

PT Easterntex's main product is T/C grey fabric, which consists of polyester and cotton. Established in 1973, PT Easterntex has signed a Gas Sales and Purchase Agreement (PJBG) with PGN, represented by Heri Frastiono, Area Head of Pasuruan, PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk, and Nobuhiro Yoshimura, President Director of PT Easterntex. The agreed contract stipulates a minimum of 5,308 MMBTU/Month and a maximum of 6,900 MMBTU/Month under normal conditions.

PT Easterntex has entrusted PGN with supplying natural gas as the primary fuel source for its production, with all equipment designed to use clean and environmentally friendly natural gas. Previously, PT Easterntex used coal as its main energy source.

"We switched from using coal to natural gas because it is energy-efficient, ensures a sustainable energy supply, supports carbon reduction, and is a step toward using renewable energy," explained Nobuhiro.

PGN, through its Sales and Operations Region III Area Pasuruan, serves the gas needs of industrial, commercial, and residential customers, with the industrial clients primarily in the food, chemical, ceramic, basic metals, CNG, and textile sectors. PGN is committed to maintaining gas supply resilience, delivering natural gas continuously 24 hours a day, seven days a week, at competitive prices.

Heri Frastiono, Area Head of Pasuruan, expressed his gratitude for PT Easterntex's trust in using natural gas as the primary fuel for its production process. He hopes that the switch to natural gas will contribute to economic growth, particularly in the Pasuruan region.

Nobuhiro added, "We hope that PGN remains committed to ensuring stable gas supply, as this is critical for the continuity of our production process."
