Support for Natural Gas Supply in IKN, PGN Distributes Gas to Hotel Nusantara

IKN – As part of its commitment to supporting infrastructure development in the Nusantara Capital City (IKN), PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk (PGN), Subholding Gas Pertamina, conducted its first natural gas distribution trial to a commercial customer, Hotel Nusantara, located in IKN. This step is a manifestation of PGN’s commitment to supporting infrastructure development in the IKN area while also enhancing operational efficiency for Hotel Nusantara. In this case, PGN provides a combination of services through beyond-pipeline modes such as Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), which offers more flexibility to accelerate the development targets of IKN.

After the distribution, Hotel Nusantara can now use natural gas from PGN as the primary energy source for its cooking activities. This enables the hotel to reduce the use of other fuels that may have a negative environmental impact.

Through reliable integrated infrastructure, PGN projects a distribution of 13,800 m³ of natural gas per month to Hotel Nusantara. PGN also ensures that the distribution process will continue smoothly and safely.

General Manager of Sales and Operations for Region III PGN, Hedi Hedianto, hopes that this natural gas supply to Hotel Nusantara will facilitate the hotel’s operational activities more effectively and efficiently. “Not only does this support the development of the hospitality industry in IKN, but PGN also consistently supports the government's commitment to accelerating infrastructure development and providing the best facilities in IKN,” said Hedi in his statement on Friday, July 26, 2024.

Herry Sukoco, Project Manager for Hotel Nusantara, appreciated the support PGN provided in supplying natural gas to the IKN area. He mentioned that hotel operations often require gas, and PGN’s support is a solution for fulfilling that energy need.

“We use materials supplied by Perusahaan Gas Negara, particularly for the kitchen area, which mainly uses gas. This use of natural gas makes operations easier because we no longer have issues with the supply,” said Herry.

As of now, PGN has also contributed to the development of IKN by preparing a 10.7 KM pipeline infrastructure installed for the Core Government Center (KIPP) 1A area, with construction still ongoing. For the initial phase, this pipeline infrastructure is projected to meet the natural gas needs for 9,996 household connections (SR) in the area.

PGN continues to support the government in driving economic growth and societal welfare across Indonesia, with the best safety and service standards. Supplying natural gas to the IKN area is part of these efforts.
